Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data SoberMind AI and the katrina.help website collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Katerina Kashtanova, operating SoberMind AI and katrina.help. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact info@katrina.help.
2. What data we collect
2.1. App account and profile
- Email, username, password hash, name, nickname, language.
- Optional profile fields: gender, religion, avatar.
2.2. Recovery and journal content
Journal entries, mood, feelings, triggers, actions, body reactions, crisis plan, goals, wishes, reminders and related settings. This content can reveal health, addiction or other sensitive information.
2.3. AI coach messages
Text you send to the AI coach and the response generated for you. Messages are sent to our AI provider (Timeweb AI) to generate a reply. Chat history is stored by the app on your device; we do not intentionally store chat content in your account database.
2.4. Website consultation form
If you send a consultation request on katrina.help, we collect the name you provide, preferred contact channel, username or profile link, session format, optional message and the language of the form. The form does not ask for your phone number or email. The request is stored in the website database and sent to a private notification channel so that Katerina can reply.
2.5. Technical data
IP address, app or browser version, device/platform information, error and security logs, request timestamps, and the language preference stored locally in your browser.
2.6. Support and feedback
Message text, optional email and diagnostics you choose to attach. Used to answer your request and improve the app.
2.7. Subscription status
Store, product, purchase status and expiry date, where paid features are available. Payment card data is handled by the app store, not by us. The current Google Play build has no in-app purchases.
Sensitive data
Journal entries and some profile fields can reveal health, addiction, religious or other sensitive information. We process this data because you choose to provide it and, where required by law, based on your explicit consent. You can stop providing it by deleting the relevant content or your account, or by contacting us.
3. How we use data
- To create, authenticate and secure your account.
- To store and show your journal, goals, wishes, reminders and crisis plan.
- To generate AI coach responses and personalize support.
- To process consultation requests sent through the website.
- To send service emails such as registration and security notices.
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud and keep the service reliable.
- To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your journal or AI chat content for advertising. The website uses no advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the app, account and consultation request you asked for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure the service, prevent abuse and improve reliability, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional profile fields, sensitive data you choose to provide, and optional communications.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.
5. Sharing
- AI provider — Timeweb AI processes chat messages to generate responses.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — servers, databases, backups, email and security monitoring.
- Private notification channel — website consultation requests are sent to Katerina via Telegram so she can reply.
- App stores — Google Play, RuStore or Apple where you install the app or make a purchase; their own privacy policies apply.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.
We do not sell personal data and do not share journal content with advertisers.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards used.
7. Retention
- Account and journal data are kept while your account exists.
- Website consultation requests are kept only as long as needed to respond and arrange a consultation, unless a longer period is required by law.
- When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated app data, except records we must keep for legal, security or accounting reasons.
- Audit and security events may be retained without direct account identifiers.
- Backups may take up to 30 days to rotate out.
- Store purchase records may be retained by the app store under its own rules.
8. Security
We use HTTPS for data in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your device protected.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- export your app data in the app;
- delete your account in the app;
- use the account deletion page;
- ask us to delete a website consultation request;
- email info@katrina.help.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
SoberMind AI is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can delete it.
11. AI and health disclaimer
AI responses can be incomplete or wrong. They are not medical advice and must not be used as a substitute for a doctor, therapist, or emergency service. Never delay seeking professional help because of something the app or AI coach said.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated policy.
